Our Workshop Process
Every board is handcrafted in our workshop using a deliberate, step-by-step process that balances craftsmanship, precision, and durability. From raw timber selection to final finish, each stage ensures the board looks great, performs well, and lasts for years.
Select and mill timbers.
Carefully chosen hardwoods are milled to accurate starting dimensions.
Arrange timbers.
Boards are milled square and dry-laid to achieve the best grain flow, colour balance, and visual impact.
Glue and clamp. (24 hours)
Timbers are bonded using Titebond Type III waterproof glue and clamped for a full cure.
Plane and sand to thickness.
The blank is flattened and brought to the required thickness.
Cut to finished size.
The board is trimmed to its final dimensions.
Cut juice groove and tray slot. (if applicable)
Using precision jigs, juice grooves and tray slots are routed cleanly and consistently.
Cut corner radius.
Corners are shaped on the router table for comfort and durability.
Progressive sanding. (80–180 grit)
Initial sanding removes tool marks and refines the surface.
Edge round-over.
Edges are softened with a routed round-over for a comfortable feel.
Final sanding. (240 grit)
A smooth, even finish prepares the board for oiling.
Laser engraving. (if applicable)
Logos, names, or messages are engraved with precision.
Oil finish.
Multiple coats of food-grade oil are applied for protection and longevity.
Install feet and tray. (if required)
Non-slip feet and juice trays are fitted where specified.
Wrap and ship.
Once fully cured, the board is carefully wrapped and shipped to its new home.
