FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What makes Capo Cuoco boards different from other cutting and serving boards?
Every Capo Cuoco board is handcrafted in Australia using premium locally sourced hardwoods, not mass-produced overseas. Each board is built for durability, performance, and presentation, with unique grain patterns, thoughtful sizing, juice grooves, and finishing that elevate both cooking and serving. No two boards are ever the same.
2. How do I care for my wooden board to ensure it lasts?
Caring for your board is simple:
- Hand wash only (no dishwasher).
- Wipe dry immediately after use.
- Oil regularly with food-grade mineral oil or board conditioner.
- Avoid soaking or leaving wet for long periods.
- Avoid direct sunlight.
With basic care, your board will last for years and develop a beautiful natural patina over time.
3. Are timber boards really food safe?
Yes. Unlike plastic, natural hardwood fibres draw moisture away from the surface, creating a dry environment where bacteria struggle to survive. Plastic boards develop deep knife scars that stay wet and trap food particles, while timber can dry quickly and even be refreshed with a light scrape and oil. With simple washing and air drying, a quality hardwood board remains hygienic, knife-friendly, and safe for everyday food preparation for many generations.
4. Do you offer engraving or personalised boards?
Absolutely. We offer laser engraving for names, initials, dates, company logos, and custom artwork. It’s perfect for gifts, weddings, corporate events, and holiday hampers. If you have something specific in mind, just reach out. We can help bring it to life.

7. How long will my order take to arrive?
Processing and dispatch typically take 2–5 business days, depending on availability of the product and whether engraving is required. Shipping times vary by location, but most Australian orders arrive within 3–10 business days. Some items are made to order and will typically take around 4-6 weeks for dispatch. You’ll receive tracking as soon as your order is on its way.
8. Can I use Capo Cuoco boards for both cutting and serving?
Yes. all boards are designed to be dual-purpose. The premium hardwood construction means they perform beautifully for daily chopping, while the refined design and finish make them perfect for cheese platters, grazing tables, BBQ presentations, and centrepiece serving.
9. What do I do if my board breaks or looks a bit worn?
We want your Capo Cuoco board to last a lifetime. If your board is damaged or simply looking tired, you can send it back to our workshop and we’ll bring it back to life. We can repair cracks or chips where possible, re-finish the surface, and apply a fresh food-safe finish so it looks and feels like new again.
